I have to say that my wee hert fair louped with excitement to see that i had been quoted as being ‘absolutely hilarious’ on the Devil’s Kitchen site.
Ha! Validation at last, thinks I, as i clicked away to view the evidence at first hand.
Alas, he was being ironic.
Double alas (with a maraschino cherry on top), his irony was based on an inability to tell the difference between the numbers 2000 and 2006. Which kind of undermines the ironic stuff. A lot.
It appears that DK took my defence of Crawford Beveridge as a potential future chair of Scottish Enterprise as a personal attack on his libertarian values.
DK then moved into full “kill ‘em all and let God sort them out” mode, firing off rounds in all directions about how Beveridge had been responsible for the financial cock up that was SE in 2006.
From this it was but a short hobble on the zimmer frame of rabid unionism to a foam flecked rant on the iniquities of Perfidious Alba.
Unfortunately for DK, Beveridge stopped working for SE in 2000, a fact which had plainly not registered through that fine red mist of outrage. So to blame him for the disaster of 2006 demonstrates a leap of logic not given to us all, thankfully.
Still, as he was happy to quote me selectively, i feel it only fair to quote my very own preferred bit from his nonsensical post, and the words “absolutely hilarious” have now found their way to the top of my reference section.

Either way, all publicity's good publicity :0)
Scotland's economy? Who gives a...? Labour have got far better things to do for their own nests.
"Thanks Suckers"
"Oh Lord! Not again!"
Absolutely, Stuart.
I suppose that the ultimate skewed accolade from DK would come if, in his own inimitable if revolting fashion, he characterised me as a portion of the female anatomy.
I live in hope ;-)
